WEEKLY Courses
Where stories spark curiosity, writers find their voice, and readers grow with confidence.
In our WEEKLY Language Arts classes, learners will strengthen reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and writing skills through engaging weekly lessons. Students will analyze texts, discuss ideas, and practice strategies that build confidence as readers and writers.
Each week, learners will focus on a particular skill, such as effectively determining the central idea. Students will be provided instruction in the reading and/or writing skill, an opportunity to practice in multiple ways (handouts, verbal discussion, chat discussion, annotation, games, etc.), and will reflect on their new knowledge.
We will model fluent reading and provide direct instruction with immediate feedback on both reading and writing skills. We will provide engaging, humor-infused lessons with high-interest texts to keep learners excited and focused on the target skills. These classes are ESL friendly, Neurodivergent friendly, Dyslexic friendly, and all learners are welcomed!
As these courses are ongoing, students can join/leave at any time since the skills are not dependent on one another. Whenever your child begins, they will be successful and will be able to grow their Language Arts knowledge with their class community!

Close Reading Strategies (5th-8th Grade) WEEKLY Course:

In this weekly Language Arts class, learners will improve close reading skills and prepare for tests through engaging non-fiction articles on fascinating scenarios, animals, and real-world topics. They will enhance their reading comprehension with interactive, thought-provoking lessons! Taught at the 5th-8th Grade level.

Advanced Literature A (8 WEEK) Course:

In this weekly Advanced Literature class, learners will analyze short literary works by well known authors through in-depth discussion and writing. Courses can be taken in ANY order! Taught at the 7th-9th Grade level.

Please preview EACH story/poem to make sure these are appropriate for your individual learner, and message if you have any questions or concerns.
Learners must read each selection PRIOR to each week’s meeting and come prepared to discuss their findings with the group.
